Recognized Leading IBM Software Business Partners to join forces
Premier IBM Business Partners Ascendant Technology (Atech) and Open Logic today announce that they have reached agreement to merge their businesses. The merger will join Atech’s European operations with those of Open Logic’s UK business and will provide a platform to rapidly develop and grow across the whole of Europe, further solidifying Atech as one of the largest and most highly skilled IBM delivery partners in the world.
Current customers of both businesses will benefit dramatically from increased scale and the ability to draw on additional depth and breadth of skills where required. They will also have access to the whole of Atech’s world-class global delivery and managed services teams, including Atech-trained personnel in Eastern Europe, India and Brazil.
“Over the last few years Open Logic has become the leading provider of IBM WebSphere Portal and Process Server services in the UK. This merger will allow us to offer additional solutions, such as WebSphere Commerce and Digital Strategy Services and provide access to new geographic markets. It will enable us to far better serve both our customers and employees and to be stronger and more competitive to win new clients,” says Craig Smith, Managing Director of Open Logic.

Craig Smith, current Managing Director of Open Logic, will become CEO of Atech Europe, leading the combined business in partnership with Radoslav Didic, a founding member of Atech Europe, who will be promoted to COO of the combined organization. Functional leaders from each organization will be retained in the merger. Each company has been recognized with multiple IBM awards, including the Distinguished Partner Award, given to the top partner by geography. This merger provides a strong foundation to further consolidate and grow the IBM Software leadership positions of both companies.
